Barry M Sunburst

4 Jan

I was itching to change my mani, so I dressed up this Barry M Red Glitter with some tape and China Glaze Liquid Leather.  I LOVE IT!!Look at that glow!  I liked this matted yesterday, but I love it even more all shined up.  Holy cow.

Look at the ‘glowing embers’ effect in this blurry shot.  I wish it looked more like this all the time, but I just don’t see these flecks of orange with regular wear.  I’ll add this mani to the list of designs I plan to try in other colors.

Another Half Moon

I didn’t realize China Glaze Phat Santa was a jelly until I put it over a glitter.  I love that you can see hints of the glitter through the red. While this isn’t one of my official Christmas manicures, it does look pretty festive.  It’s a little hard to get a reinforcement sticker to glitter.  I had to put a top coat on it just to smooth it out enough to get the sticker to stay put.

It turned out beautifully!  I heart it.

Guac

I was eating my usual salad for lunch the other day and, there it was, the inspiration for my mani.  Avocado nails.  Silly, I know and a bit of a stretch of the imagination.  Avocado is one of my most favoritest things in the world!  Om, nom, nom.

I used Sinful Colors Nirvana for the pit, Orly Green Apple for the meat and a mix of China Glaze Starboard and Sally Hansen Black Out for the skin.

Day 30- 30 Days of Untrieds: China Glaze Phat Santa

30 Nov

Last day of the challenge!  I didn’t anticipate that simply changing my polish every day would be so challenging.  I guess that’s why it’s called a challenge.  I’m happy to have a break from swatching.  I’m ready to do something fun and wear my mani for more than a few hours.

China Glaze Phat Santa:  This was a really thick formula.  It went on really smoothly, but was thicker than your average polish.  This is a good deepish red; not a primary red.

Day 20- 30 Days of Untrieds: OPI Rainbow Connection

20 Nov

O.P.I. Rainbow Connection:  I put this over the top of China Glaze Starboard from yesterday’s swatch.  It looked super fun.  I wanted to wear it for a couple days, but alas, it has to come off.  The challenge must go on.  I didn’t have to glop this one quite as much as other glitters, which was nice.  I’ve also been trying China Glaze’s Fast Forward Top Coat.  I haven’t used it enough yet to form much of an opinion, except that it smells awful.  Peeeeugh!
