Blue and Black Dotticure

It’s been a while since I did a chevron so I decided to do the dotticure version.I love the combination of black and aqua-ish blue.  I used Wet ‘n Wild I Need a Refresh-Mint and black acrylic.

How do you like my short little nubby nails?  I’ve been trying to keep them a little shorter lately, but I broke my middle nail pretty low and there was nothing I could do but shorten them all.  Oh well.  They grow pretty fast, so they’ll be back to normal in a week.

Valentine’s Heart French

With Valentine’s Day coming up next week, I’ve been thinking about designs with hearts.While I don’t do french manicures very often, I really love the look of them. They feel very classy and sophisticated to me. This is definitely a bit more playful then the traditional white tip.

I used Color Club Edie for my tip and acrylics for the hearts and dots.

Leopard French-ish

I’ve been seeing these type of French manicures around a lot lately and I love them! So I decided to do one for myself.Fortunately my nails are stained at the moment so I was safe to show off a little naked nail. 🙂 As I often do, I chose my colors from the polishes I already had out. I used OPI Pink Friday for my tips, Color Club Edie for the aqua spots and CND Asphalt is the grey. I topped this off with Chill Zone top coat. I should have used two coats to hide all the ridges in my nail. I don’t do much buffing of my nails and I didn’t use a base coat for this design, so one little coat of top coat over my naked nail didn’t hide imperfections as well as I’d have liked. Oh well. That’s what I get for not using a top coat I guess.

Polka Dot Waves

There was no rhyme or reason to this dotticure.  I didn’t have much of a plan.
It looks very summery, so maybe it was me dreaming of warmer days to come.

I used NYX Girls White as my base, Wet ‘n Wild Everybody Loves Redmond, Color Club Edie and Zoya Robyn.

Lizard or Sesame Seeds?

I can’t decide if I see lizard skin or sesame seeds when I look at this mani.  What do you see?
I wanted to play with Color Club Edie some more because it’s such a fabulous color. And OPI Swedish Nude was already out, so I used it too.  I’m not in love with the results, but it’s a pretty cool look.

I don’t know why it looks so lizard-ish to me.  I guess it just looks kind of scaly.  Do you see reptiles or hamburger buns? 😉
