Twinsie Tuesday: Polka Dots or Stripes

This week’s theme is polka dots or stripes. Or why not both?  It looks very Easter egg-ish, yeah?  I’ve got spring on the brain.  And the fact that all the store are already putting out Easter candy isn’t helping.

I used Wet ‘n Wild I Need a Refresh-mint and Milani Pink Hottie along with white acrylic.

Aliens Need Love Too

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!  This song came on the radio while I was driving around town the other day.  And this mani was born. I’ve been laughing about it for days! It’s a little crazy, I know.  Aliens have hearts too ya know.  They’re probably celebrating Valentine’s Day today just like we are. 😉

My hubby got a good laugh out of it.  My daughter asked what they were, then said they were mad. Ha ha!

My base polish for this design was OPI DS Magic, my aliens are Sinful Colors Innocent and the pink heart is Milani Pink Hottie. Everything else was done with acrylics.  I topped it off with Chill Zone top coat.

I think this is super cute and I’m giving myself a pat on the back for it. I think it’s safe to say this mani is one of a kind. I hope you’re all spending the day with people you love (romantically or otherwise). Happy Valentine’s Day!

Love Birds

Awe… cute.  I love this delicate design.I first did this Jonqal design for a Twinsie Tuesday theme back in December. I loved it! It’s such a simple design to do, but has such a dramatic impact. The black and white color scheme back in December was a very bold look, while the pink and white today is a much softer look.

I used OPI Pink Friday and white acrylic paint for the jonqal design. For my love birds I used OPI Do You Lilac It, Vant To Bite My Neck, The “It” Color and Pink Friday, Color Club Edie, Milani Fresh Teal, Sally Hansen White On and Black Out, Jordana Orangesicle and red acrylic.

I topped this off with two coats of HK Girl top coat. I have a crazy idea for tomorrow’s mani. We’ll see if I actually do it. It promises to be fantastic. Do you have any fun Valentine’s manis planned?

Not Too Cutesy Valentine’s Mani

I wore this mani for several days.  I loved it so much!  I decided to deviate a little from the red color palate and go with pink instead. Black dials the cute factor down a bit; give it a little edge.

I used Zoya Lola and China Glaze Liquid Leather along with white and black acrylics.

Twinsie Tuesday: Vintage Beauty Ad

I perused vintage beauty ads on Google for a long time looking for something I could (and wanted to) do. I emailed myself several links to keep track of the ones I liked so I could go back later and make a decision. When I went back to look through my links, none of them worked. They either linked to Google images directly or to the wrong image all together. Sooo frustrating!
After Googling different phrases and browsing through images for a good hour trying to find the one I had decided to do, I finally found it.

I only had silver micro beads, but I think this is a good interpretation on this ad. This was the first time I’ve done a caviar type mani. I was frustrated that there were some gaps that required me to shift the beads around or add one to fill in the holes. They kept falling off too. I really only kept this on long enough to get pictures taken. I don’t think I’m a fan of the micro beads.

The polishes I used were OPI Pink Friday, OPI Swedish Nude (under the beads), Essie Borrowed and Blue, American Apparel Butter and OPI Do You Lilac It.  What do you think?  Did I represent this ad well?
