Twinsie Tuesday: Polka Dots or Stripes

19 Feb

This week’s theme is polka dots or stripes. Or why not both?  It looks very Easter egg-ish, yeah?  I’ve got spring on the brain.  And the fact that all the store are already putting out Easter candy isn’t helping.

StripedPolkaDots (3) WLcopyI used Wet ‘n Wild I Need a Refresh-mint and Milani Pink Hottie along with white acrylic.

Sealed With a Kiss

8 Feb

I’m having fun coming up with Valentine’s manis.  I didn’t do many lovey dovey designs last year and I think I’m making up for it.Valentines_sealedwithakiss (3) WLcopyThis is the first time I’ve tried lips. I need to practice a bit more I think.  I like them anyway.

I used China Glaze Liquid Leather, Sally Hansen White On and Milani Fresh Teal along with white and red acrylics.

Twinsie Tuesday: School Colors

5 Feb

When I think of school spirit my mind immediately goes back to high school. But maybe that’s because my post high school education consists of graduating from a trade school that didn’t have a mascot and colors.

SchoolSpirit (10) WLcopyI was a T-Bird and as you can see, our school colors were orange, white and blue. According to our fight song the official colors were orange and white, but we got the blue worked in there somehow. Not very original school colors. I’d bed that there’s at least one of my fellow twinsies that is sporting the same colors.

SchoolSpirit (14) WLcopyI got brave and tried the explosion again. I think this is the third or fourth time I’ve attempted it. I used painters tape this time. The lines aren’t perfect, but it’s by far my best explosion yet.  Of course as soon my top coat started to set, I gouged my ring finger nail with my other hand.  AAARRRGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so mad!!  It was completely lifted and rolled up.  I attempted to unroll it with a toothpick then smooth it out with my wet finger.  It actually looks pretty good compared to what I started with.  I used Jordana Orangsicle and Smooth Blue and Sally Hansen White On.

Go Red for Women

1 Feb

Did you know that today is National Wear Red Day?  I believe the first and maybe every Friday in February the American Heart Association asks you to wear red to show your support for Women’s Heart Health.   I’m doing that by way of a manicure.GoRedForWomen (3) WLcopyI didn’t want to just paint my nails red.  You know me, I’ve got to do something to spice it up.  I can’t be seen simply wearing a solid color of nail polish. 😉  An animal print is the quickest way to spice things up in my opinion.

GoRedForWomen (7) WLcopy

I’ve done lots of leopard, but haven’t dabbled in zebra much, so that’s what I settled on.  I need to practice a bit more.  While I’m in love with the overall design, I think my zebra could use a little work.  I used NYX Girls White, Sinful Colors GoGo Girl and China Glaze Liquid Leather as well as black, red and white acrylics.  I topped this off with HK Girl top coat.GoRedForWomen (10) WLcopyAre you sporting red today?  There’s still time to go change your shirt or your polish in support of women’s heart health.  Heart disease is a serious subject that we should all educate ourselves about.  Check out the American Heart Association for more information.

Polka Dot Waves

16 Jan

There was no rhyme or reason to this dotticure.  I didn’t have much of a plan.
polkadotwave (4) WLcopyIt looks very summery, so maybe it was me dreaming of warmer days to come.

polkadotwave (15) WLcopyI used NYX Girls White as my base, Wet ‘n Wild Everybody Loves Redmond, Color Club Edie and Zoya Robyn.
