The Walking Dead Starts Today!

14 Oct

Tonight is the season 3 premier of the Walking Dead on AMC.  I’m sooo excited!  In honor of it’s return, I decided to repost my Walking Dead mani.  Enjoy!

Who else is loves this show? I really like the show, but hubby is truly obsessed. Not only does he read the comic books and listen to the pod casts, but his Halloween pumpkin last October was the lead character Rick Grimes. The finale of the second season is this Sunday and it promises not to disappoint. To honor the show, here’s my Walking Dead manicure. There are a ton of pictures; I just couldn’t narrow it down.

What do you think of my zombies? Not near as scary as the ones on the show, but creepy enough. I’m not a huge fan of scary shows and movies generally. My husband got me started on this show. Shortly after we started watching it, it gave me nightmares one night. Of course one bad night of sleep didn’t stop me from watching it.

I’m pretty proud of my gun. I know nothing about guns. I had to google images of guns just to know how to draw one.

I’m always sad when season finale season rolls around. I hate reruns and channel surfing when you can’t find anything worth watching.

This mani is a combination of polish and acrylics. Lets see if I can remember what is what. The two grey polishes on my thumb, index and middle fingers are OPI Moon of Mumbai and Sally Hansen Wet Cement. The combination of sponged polishes on my ring and pinkie fingers are OPI Uh-Oh Roll Down the Window, Julep Selena and Sinful Colors Nirvana. All of the rest of the colors are acrylic craft paints. I used Jordana Quick Dry between layers and did a final top coat of Seche Vite.

Wow. Awesome work. My hubby wants to wait until the whole season is on Netflix. It’s tough to avoid the recaps during the season.

Love it, and LOVE the show. Got hooked watching S1/E1 on iTunes, then had to watch — and pay for — the first two seasons! I love Andrew Lincoln — remember him on Love Actually? Sigh. (So I see you can watch TWD but not American Horror Story, huh? LOL!)

Thanks! I’m telling you, it all depends on the type of horror. If it’s demonic or sinister in an evil way, it scares me. Zombie scarey I can handle. I know, I’m weird. 🙂

I keep trying to post a comment, but WordPress says “looks like you said that already.” 😦

    • TopCoatIt October 15, 2012 at 9:23 pm #

It tells me that sometimes too. Maybe I want to reply “Thank you” to each comment. I don’t care if WordPress thinks it’s a duplicate! Can you tell it irritates me?

Ha — fooled it by logging in under Twitter!

omg, I’m addicted to the walking dead. I love the way you did this manicure, esp the gun and title that continues along a few nails – the colors and composition are badass! One of the best pop culture manis I’ve ever seen, honestly 🙂

      Wow… Thank you very much!
