Glitter Gal Light as a Feather

3 May

I really, really wanted to be blown away by this polish.  I’ve been coveting Glitter Gal polishes for a while and this is one of two that I bought recently.  I thought a white holo would be gorgeous, but I’m underimpressed with it.  Not completely unimpressed, but not in love either.  I ordered this thinking it would be perfect for a wedding manicure.  What better than a white holo, right?

These first three pictures are under regular old incandescent lighting and while the holo effect in the bottle is fantastic, the effect isn’t showing up on my nail.  I wanted this to really be white, so I layered it over Nina Ultra Pro ridge filling base coat in white.

I know the above picture looks like turd, but it’s just to show you the rainbow potential.  This is under fluorescent light.

And lastly, in my desperate attempt to capture a glimpse of the holo that I saw in the bottle, we have direct sunlight.

There it is!  Now that’s beautiful!  It is a little greyer and silver toned than I had hoped.  The moral of the story?  If you’re going to wear this as your wedding mani, make sure you choose an outdoor venue or no one will truly appreciate it.

I had wondered about white holos. That’s disappointing. But so pretty in the sun.

Sorry you were disappointed. It really does look pretty in the sun. This is actually on my wish list.

It does look lovely, albeit pale silver, in the sunshine! How about a holo topcoat over a white polish? Would that work? Thanks for the photos – they are lovely 🙂

It looks so pretty in the sun. I’m such a newbie to holos but I love them!
