These three polishes are super sheer. I had an idea to layer them over one another to see how the colors changed. The polishes I used were OPI Calendar Girl (pink), Sea Ya Later Sailor (blue) and Sit Under the Apple Tree (green).
I tried to make each nail different, by doing the colors in different orders. I love the green over the pink-ish because it makes a a really warm orange. Then the blue over the pink/red makes a slight purple.
My ring finger is my favorite. It’s got a bit of a ROY G BV gradient going on. I’ve got a couple other ideas for layering experiments with these polishes. Hopefully I’ll get around to them sooner or later.
I’ve never seen something like this before. Love the colors.
Thanks MariJo. It makes me think of rainbow sherbet every time I look at it.
Love it!
Tie-dyed nails! Gorgeous! 😀
Thanks Kimly and everysensory!
Pretty, I love the way you changed up the order of the colors!
Thanks Jackie! I wanted to show the different colors that were created when they were layered differently.
Reblogged this on DINOSQUAREROBOT and commented:
This is such a nice color combo! I think I’ll have to try this out soon 🙂
Hey thanks Dinosquarerobot! I appreciate the reblog and kind words!
I love this!!! So different and pretty. 🙂 Would love to see a step-by-step of how you achieved this. When I have tried layering and gradient type things in the past they never seem to turn out right!
Thanks! I’ll see what I can do about a step by step tutorial for you. 🙂
