On today’s edition of Twinsie Tuesday we’re all showcasing jelly sandwiches. This is my first jelly sandwich. I’ve never really wanted to do one before because I just didn’t see the point. Why would I put something pretty and sparkly on my nails only to cover it up with a semi-transparent polish? It’s not a technique I’ve been eager to try. However, it’s on the schedule for today, so here we go.
I didn’t have a green jelly (but have been on a green kick in case you haven’t noticed) so I made one. It’s not very good, but it worked. I took a bottle of top coat, added a bunch of Kleancolor Green Grass and some OPI Uh-Oh Roll Down the Window and Sinful Colors Unicorn. I didn’t have one of those little mixer balls to put in it, so I went out in my front yard and found a little rock to drop in the bottle. It worked alright, but wasn’t quite heavy enough to help all that much.
I slapped a coat it my unnamed franken down, then a coat of Kleancolor Chunky Holo Clover, some OPI Fresh Frog of Bel Air just to the tips, then a coat of Finger Paints Flecked and finally another coat or two of my green franken. To be honest, I don’t really like it. The whole combination is very blah. I doubt I’ll be trying another jelly sandwich anytime soon.
You should definitely check out what all the other ladies are doing today because I’m sure they’re better than mine.

Love all the layers of your sandwich! The green is awesome!
I think this looks really pretty!! I love how the glitter is suspended in the jelly. I love jelly sandwiches.
The color combo is beautiful and perfect for St Pattys! Awesome job on the franken. It turned out really pretty.
How can you not like this much green together? I think it is gorgeous!

I love this sandwich! I also loved that you used a rock to mix up your franken 🙂
I completely agree with you about questioning the point of jelly sandwiches. But that being said, yours is so subtle, it works as a polish that looks like it has flakies. Love it!
I really love this. The green is lovely. I also love greens. How can you go wrong with a green? Green + glitter = perfection lol 🙂
My jelly sandwich was green too but I like yours much better!
Thank you everyone! I’m happy to hear that you all like this samich and that maybe I’m being a little too hard on myself. 🙂
I actually really like it. It’s not over the top, but if you really look at it, you can see all the complex layers.
